Ask for referrals! Some clients just don't know they are supposed to tell their friends and family about how much you have helped them. Also, ask them to write reviews on yelp, google etc. Personalized reviews, like on yelp or google, can be really helpful when you are first starting out.

You need to have passion. If you do not deeply love what you are doing, and have passion for it get out. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart so you need to have that love and drive to sustain you when there is a bump in the road.
