This interview is part of the Lady Boss Co-Host Series
Kelly and her studiomates (Brittney & Michele) are hosting the November 2016 edition of Lady Boss at their studio in Philadelphia.
Let's get to know her
Q: Coffee or tea?
Q: Guilty pleasure?
A: Rehearsing my 11 year old Jenny from the Block cheerleading routine.
Q: What are you listening to lately?
Q: Who are you crushing on?
A: Who am I not crushing on?
Q: Current mantra (or phrase, or Affirmation...)?
What makes her a boss
Q: What do you do?
A: I'm the lead photographer & owner over at Kelly Giarrocco Photography, if the name didn't give it away. Weddings and portraits are the heart of my business, but taking street photographs and portraits on film and creating short doc-style films are my true passion.
Q: Tell us about a project you recently wrapped
A: I'm currently in the process of developing a separate photography business focused solely on portraits — stay tuned!
Q: What makes you go to work each day?
A: There's something super special in knowing that I'm creating the images that generations of family members will view to reminisce and remember and imagine. This job has allowed me to travel to faraway places, to connect with people from all walks of life, and to witness the beautiful celebration traditions from different cultures, all while exercising the right hemisphere of my brain.
Q: Tell us about a dream project or client.
A: Traveling is what motivated me to pick up a camera in the first place. Nothing excited me and inspires me more than exploring a new place and being immersed in a new culture. My dream is to photograph intimate weddings and elopements in all corners of the world.
Q: What made you decide to host a Lady Boss?
A: Michele Suits, Brittney Raine, and I just moved into a new studio this summer and we're excited to host and talk shop with other small business owners!
