Tell us about your business!
Ursula: I am a financial advisor and franchise owner of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. I provide personalized comprehensive planning to SBOs, individuals, and organizations looking to take their finances to the next level.
What accomplishment are you celebrating right now?
Ursula: This year, I’m celebrating 19 years as a financial advisor — 15 of which have been as a franchise owner. I’ve had the pleasure of personally counseling hundreds of individuals through the best and worst of times and impacting the lives of countless others through seminars and workshops. My client satisfaction scores are consistently high; the most recent of which was 95%. I’m so humbled and honored to do what I do!
What keeps you motivated?
Ursula: My clients. I have the opportunity to not only help people reach their financial goals, but to assist them in making educated decisions in some of the most challenging and difficult times of one’s life (death, divorce, disability, unexpected job loss, etc.). I value each individual relationship I share with my clients and I don’t take their trust and confidence for granted. My clients are the best!
What's one tip you want to share with other entrepreneurs?
Ursula: Take care of you. As women, we’re often expected to get lost in the shuffle of putting everyone else’s needs ahead of our own. But we’ll never get ahead by leaving ourselves behind. You are no good to yourself, your family, or your clients if you don’t invest in yourself and your own wellbeing.
What's your favorite app or resource of the moment?
Ursula: Planoly. I learned about that at the first Lady Boss event I attended.
What are you listening to lately?
Ursula: Podcast: The Breakdown with Shaun King. Music: I listen to Jonathan McReynolds, Lecrae, Kanita Benson just about everyday. Love them all!
What are you crushing on?
Ursula: My husband... we’re celebrating 12 years of marriage!
